Productions of La bohème across the world have recently featured many AVA alumni. She also recently returned to Hamburg State Opera to play Mimi in La bohème. The soprano debuted Desdemona in Otello in Houston Grand Opera’s production at the end of October and the beginning of November to excellent reviews. Recently announced Richard Tucker Award-winner and AVA alumna Ailyn Pérez ('06) will be making her Metropolitan Opera debut in the role of Miceala in Carmen this February. Angela will also be joining our annual BrAVA Gala this March (for more information, please click here). 2 with the Philadelphia Orchestra and then headed over to the UK to perform Beethoven: Symphony No.9. She started off November performing Mahler: Symphony No. Soprano and Opera News covergirl Angela Meade (’09) was both local to the US and across the pond this month.
